Brakeback Mounting... 120-130 1967

Remember that the Volvo unions are unique, they are threaded all the way, most standard unions have an unthreaded "nose". If you use those all your unions will be holding on one or two threads only. The most sensible way to go is to use cupro nickel brake lines, they're easy to flare if you have the right tool.

You absolutely must NOT use compression fittings on brake lines BTW!

What you're looking for on the brake lines if you clean them up is pitting, once they start to pit they're scrap. Personally I don't paint them, I cover them with grease.

This is the best type of flaring tool, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRITISH-MADE-PROFESSIONAL-BRAKE-PIPE-FLARING-TOOL_W0QQitemZ160148260486QQihZ006QQcategoryZ30922QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The ones using a U type clamp with a screw mechanism are a menace!

There are other designs which work well, but it is something I'd buy with a real tool name on it like Sykes Pickavant for instance.
