well... you sure don't want your keys and axles attacking on and other.... :-)

Good that that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Still though.. it sounds to me like you diagnosed what I would consider to be normal wear on the ring and pinion gears... maybe yours is worse than any I've seen.

Were it me, at this point... knowing that the drums ain't budging... I'd either keep looking into bushings and the like.. or just drive gently and wait for something definitive...
