From a little Googling.... the 967 is indeed for a '92 non-EGR 740T. So you should be good!
Any idea what you have in there now? Different stock ECU's don't offer huge performance gains. Though you'll almost always feel a "seat-of-your-pants" gain after replacing (or simply disconnecting power to) an LH2.4 ECU because the adaptive memory is clear, and the ECU will run the engine slightly rich until it acclimates.
For performance gains, you may want to consider upping the boost. The folks on TurboBricks are probably hip to how much boost you LH 2.4 can handle.
As for getting a copy of Rolling, contact VCOA(.org). It's worth becoming a member. Rolling is a great publication, and Byers Volvo has given me some *huge* discounts on some of the parts I've had to get from a dealership. Membership has paid for itself.
