Once you've done it, it seems easy.

A flat on just the head of the stud was enough to create the ability to tap it past the brake sensor ring, which is a lot more durable than you would imagine.
It did "bend" out of the way to allow it to pass by as you tap on the back.

The pain was getting the old ones out by sawing them short enough. Don't tap it back until you get it shortened. Don't ask me how I know.
