Heating/Cooling System Problems Brewing? 120-130

If I were you I would get a real thermometer, run the engine until it is good
and hot (FULL of coolant) then check the temp of the water in the top of the
radiator. Should be about 180-190°F.

One thing that makes temps run high is retarded ignition. Might be good to
check your ignition timing. Should be advanced at least 10° BTDC or maybe as
much as 20°, and when the engine speeds up it should go to 35° or a little more.
