Looking at mid 80's 245 with harness problem

I looked at a 86 245 last night. I looked at the harness and found that it had the typical biodegrading harness. Is my only way to make this car relaiable to tear off the manifold and spend $500 on a new harness or could I cut ans splice on my existing harness. If I go the repair route could I reuse the greay plugs as I don't know how to attach the wire pins again if even possibe. Thanks.
