Throttle Switch 200 1989

Jguerra,

Yes, you will hear the click of the switches regardless of power or connections.

What you are listening for is a lightly spring loaded mechanical snap. Be aware that some microswitches make very little sound; an ever so slight tick rather than a robust click.

It is best to use an Ohmmeter to check the switches. The idle position switch can be checked on PIN2 and the WOT switch on PIN3; both referenced to ground.
