If the Volvo Canadian badge is mounted by pins you might be able to see evidence of the holes if you remove the millboard cover on the inside of the lid.
Even though the Amazons were put together from CKD kits sent from Sweden, I'd be surprised if there wasn't something fitted that was sourced locally. May only have been batteries though.
Anyone know of any links to pictures of production at the Nova Scotia factory?
I have a full page ad from National Geographic which announces the opening of the factory. It shows a pre facelift red 4 door amazon from about 1964 posed on a wooden harbour pier.
