I've found the clips to be very stubborn to remove. Usually because you hook one side of the clip and the other side digs into the groove.

I think your IPD tool is supposed to slip between the disk and handle, then you rotate it around the center of the handle to catch and remove the clip. You might want to wedge the disk away from the handle with a screwdriver to see the clip. Get it caught and the then release the disk back against the handle. When you loosen the clip adequately, the handle will pop off because of the large spring behind the door panel.

Myself, I use a a large flathead screwedriver to carefully wedge the handle away from the black disk. Then I used a cheap $1.00 painters-tool from the bargain bin at the hardware store (the one that looks like a putty knife but has a half-circle cutout (see picture). It is best to go cheap because you need flexibility. I also have a 30-degree bend in mine to allow me to work close up against the door panel.



I then use my grinder to put more of a "hook" on the curved part and I use that to grab the omega clip and pull it back out. DO NOT do this with the $35.00 hyde tool that is pictured!

This tool is also great for slipping behind the door panel clips and levering them out of the door without tearing them out of the panel.
