Hi Sammy,

I don't have a schematic for a 96 "Whatever model"
You need a wiring diagram for your car.

My 89 Volvo has a number of things to check- a relay, column switch,
ignition switch, fuse 15 and more
Try to find the Volvo wiring green book.
If you locate an online schematic for your car, I'll help you more.

Another usefull tactic is to search the brickboard files with the nice search
engine. These problems are not new and there's plenty of useful threads
just for the looking.
