Sugar Cube Relays? 140-160

All those numbers mean something----1, 15, 30, 86, 87, etc. They are part of a standardized code, either Bosch or DIN, and tell you the exact function of the wire or terminal in question. I once saw a complete listing of them but have never been able to find it again.

From your description, I suspect those relays may be from a 74. I never owned one of those, so I don't know for sure. The round aluminum cans were on earlier 140s. I have seen relays like that on late 70s VWs, and other German cars of that era.
