Loosen or remove the belt, and grab the pulley and see if the pump shaft
has lots of slop. Is there any weeping or leaking around the shaft?
Get everything soaked with PB spray or Mystery oil to help disassembly.
especially the hydraulic line fittings.
I replaced my pump last fall and everything was easy except for one of the hydraulic fittings that finally broke loose with pipe wrenches.
It looked like open end or adjustable wrenches would just deform the
fitting or bust the hydraulic line. I used a little heat too.
I wire brushed the tensioner parts and used never seez on them, so they don't
get stuck so fast.
