you have got a long list or repairs, seems like when you find out and solve the problem you will get a darn new car. I remember that in my case the reason for dying was an old crankshaft pulley: the rubber 'gasket' between the outer and inner metal parts was cracked and used to slip sometimes. This could be just one more place for you to check. Good luck.
