760 stalling - help my son needs to get to school 700 1988

Just went and swapped the ignition control unit (swapped the old one with the replacement unit) and drove the car home without a problem. I'm not convinced that the problem is solved. The car stalled with the ICU that is back on the vehicle so the fix may be temporary. I'm stumped on what it could be. suggestions??
