I have mounted my speakers directly to the metal from inside the trunk - quite easy with self-tapping sheet metal screws, even though I was a little fancier than that. Let me find the photos.

It is very easy to remove a rear deck from the junk yard but beware - they are ALL trashed. I've never found one that did not at the very least require a recarpeting, and normally required reinforcement of some kind.
