I'm glad that a BB member saved that little gem - especially if it was not a certain scandinavian guy who would want to strip it and sell it. There's no problem with that. Who did get it BTW?
As far as eBay... That's a pretty *SERIOUS* seller's error.
I've seen several with the caveat you mention before. Not ending the auction when the car was already sold is downright criminal and is a perfect example of what is wrong with eBay.
Someone ponied up a $4,700.00 offer and won, and was then told the car was already sold to someone else? It still stinks. What would have happened if the auction ended with a higher price than our BB member offered? Would the seller have told our forum buddy to get stuffed and sold it to the eBay bidder after all?
