I should have mentioned this before.
While it is entirely possible (and not unlikely) that the product you just bought is suitable, it may not be. As you have a system that has been converted to 134a from R12, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that you use only ester oil in it. This is a special oil specifically for that purpose. Systems that used 134a from day 1 take PAG oil, which is NOT compatible with some of the components in R12 systems (even after they have been converted)
If what you bought is a can of straight R134a, it will work just fine. Where you are likely to run into trouble is with products that claim to improve cooling, stop leaks, or particularly, add oil to the system. These will often contain PAG oil, which MUST NOT be introduced into an R12 system. Read the label very carefully. If in doubt, return it and make sure you have plain 134a, or, if it contains any additives, make sure that is specifically says ESTER oil, NOT PAG.
