I'm sure that lots of people would assert that double valve springs are necessary when using one of these cams. And it's a good idea. For better or worse, though, I have a 2130cc B20 that uses the Isky VV71 cam and single valve springs. Might not be ideal, but it's worked well enough for the last ~170K.
