I have some resistance wire (probably of Nichrome), but likely not the correct gauge and cross sectional area (read: Gauge)...and that is what determines resistance per unit length...you have to get that (and total length) right when replacing it...that's why it may be simpler to repair the break by soldering and reusing the existing...as far as how difficult can it be...that is clearly determined by the abilities, resources, and additude of the guy attempting it...and I have no way of knowing, or predicting those parameters for anyone but myself...
