So I took off the check valve, and it is working properly. I could blow through it toward the engine, but couldn't suck any air through. Also, when I took it out it made an air sucking sound, so it had been holding vacuum.
The FAQ says, "If you can hear it inside, odds are the booster diaphragm is leaking." So assuming it is the brake booster, has anyone rebuilt one before?
My preference would be to refurbish instead of replacing it with an old junkyard part that may be on its way out. Anyone know of a kit for this? I found a place called BSC parts out of Atlanta that can reman Bendix boosters, I'll call them tomorrow to see if they can just sell me the reman kit they use.
If I go the junkyard route - Whats a fair price for a used booster? And, does anyone know of a reputable junkyard in the DC area?
Thanks again for all the help,
Miceh
