Pulling #6 fuse doesn't clear my OBD Codes 700 1991

An old timer once told me you had to give it at least 5 minutes since the computer had some "keep alive" capacity of it own.

He always pulled the negative battery cable and gave it about 20 minutes. He swore that it memorized engine performance and this was the only way to be sure you were starting out with a "clear and clean" ECU.
