I believe it can be done, but I think that buying a head unit with an auxiliary input might be a better idea. MP3 players run out of juice eventually, and car chargers can fail at the worst possible time. When you are stuck in traffic, in our Florida heat, having the ability to play a CD, or the radio might save your life : )
