Fuel Tank problem 1800 1971

Hello Mike,

Over the course of the years, a sludge will form at the bottom of the tank that can harden when the fuel evaporates, possibly plugging your return line.

You should probably pull the tank and bring it to a radiator shop that is willing to work on gas tanks.

The radiator shop can clean the tank and remove the return pipe and clean it out as it is just soldered to the tank.

If the tank has corrosion issues, I highly recommend seeking out a local ReNu franchise to have your tank coated with their lifetime warranty process.

Most radiator shops offer a cheaper alternative, but it will not last and usually causes more problems in the future as it clogs up your fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel injectors.
