How dark is too dark? 200

My odometer is dead, and I only drive about 10 miles a day to and from work (round trip). I only rack up 300 miles a month. So 3k comes in 10 months. But my oil is too dark in my opinion after 3 months. Maybe I am being anal, but how short is too short when it comes to frequency of oil changes?
