well I have to be at work now, so next time I get a chance to mess with it I will post results, I know I started car after each step (started fine after plugs, put new wires, started fine, changed cap and rotor, started fine, went out to start again, gave it a quick jolt of the starter (wanted to see how quick it started), sounded like it turned over, so I let off the key, then it like puttered for a sec, tried to gas it but too late, engine already off..that is the last time it started...I know you guys dont think the timing could jump that much...or would the rotor not turn if it jumped...I know that belt is no good though just waiting to break, like I said earlier all cracked and feels loose to the touch, should have good tension on it shouldn't it?? I didn't pull the cover, there is just a spot where it isnt together the whole way, and if you pull it a little you can see and touch belt...maybe I will try to do the belt myself....I don't know though I seem to have bad luck, one time I changed plugs and such on an escort, then I test drove it, and the charge light came on, so maybe I shouldn't touch ignition systems? :)
