Check your alternator 700 1989

The other suggestions are solid,
but it can be just be a loose alternator belt

You should see at least 14 volts at the battery with the car running
and the headlights and blower fan on.

While you're there you should check the rubber mounting bushings
for the alternator, the alternator wont align right when the rubber
dies from old age.
