The only thing I discovered today was that my thermostatic unit in the air box is bad and the air intake defaults to the preheated position..would this explain why I occasionally pings from the engine? Im in S. Florida As much as my driving is mixed I have never driven more than 35 miles or so at a constant highway speed. Perhaps one day I should give it a long run ! I will definitely check the areas that BLINDBOY suggests..Thanks for your replies
