...Does that say you got a new exact fit blower motor for 15$?? where?? mine is rickety and squeaks when the AC is on max and has the car nice and chilly....

And I hope you get it fixed. I wouldn't have thought of the issue with the switch vs. direct power. I wish I could give advice, but I haven't done anything with it yet.
