I think ODGuru is saying that cutting power to the solenoid should kick you out of OD.
If the solenoid is getting power your, 4th gear switch may not be working or something in the wiring could be grounding out and keeping the solenoid on.
I'd cut battery power first, then maybe pull the hot wire to the OD relay. Put the car up on jacks and pull the wire to the solenoid itself.
If it still won't disengage you could remove the solenoid itself, but I think there's a risk associated with that course of action due to pressure build up or something.
If you do everything to be sure the solenoid has disengaged and it is *still* stuck on - I'd guess that there's something wrong with the OD's innards.
If it's stuck on, for god's sake don't put it in reverse.
