From what I have read, it may not be strong enough for the six cylinder engine. Volvo developed the M400 (basically a beefed up M40) for use with the 164. Also, the M40 bellhousing won't fit the B30. The M400/410 bell housing is a little larger. There's a brickboard member that put a M46 from a 240 into his 164. He used a custom modified bellhousing.
