right blinker too fast 700 1990

Rileyman, you are right on the money! I too had been experiencing the fast flashing, sometimes on the right, but lately on the left. Sometimes the turn signal actually flashed dimly at the fast rate, other times not at all. Sometimes jiggling a rear socket fixed it, sometimes not. Today I was waiting at a light to turn left and it actually went from fast to normal and then back to fast. So I decided to tackle the left front socket; the hardest one to get at. As you said, the socket was corroded, so I cleaned it out with Scotchbrite, raised the bottom contacts up some and tweaked the outside of the socket with needlenose pliers to grip the bulb tighter. I also cleaned the bulb base and contacts, then greased the socket and bulb with dielectric grease before sticking the socket back in. On the first try, before tweaking the socket, it didn't flash at all after I put it back because the bulb had apparently got dislodged, losing contact. The final time I put it back I had the light flashing in hazard mode to see what was happening. It's also easier to see where you're putting it when it's flashing.
