temperature issues 200 1993

The guage problem is probably associated with the temperature compensation board. It is located in the instrument cluster. It needs to be removed, discarded, and replaced by a "jumper wire".

You need to remove the cluster to get at it. Make notes of where the connectors go that are on the back of the cluster. The white wire with a red stripe does not get connected to anything unless you have a tachometer.

Once the board is replaced by the jumper wire the gauge will most likely give you true readngs. If you do not solder some people have reported success in simply pressing a short section of stranded lamp cord over the two terminals to make the connection (insulation in place).
