Good questions... In installed it like the last one (that did not seem to be working) and don't remember this info. But, it appears to only really go in one way. I remember that I put the thermostat and gasket inside the section attached to the hose I lifted off not into the housing attached to the car. So, the spring would be pointing down. Is that correct?
