Adding tach, small clock and volt meter. 200 1993

I'm replacing the large clock in the cluster with a tach, and adding a small clock and volt meter to the right of the cluster. I'm planning on piggybacking the hot lead for the voltmeter light from the lead to the clock light, and running both voltmeter grounds (meter itself and light) through the clock harness ground wire to the back of the tach, then a separate hot lead from the fuse panel to the volt meter. Does this sound OK, or should I run a separate ground wire for the volt meter and its light? When I add more gauges later, can I run their grounds all through the ground wire that goes to the back of the tach? How many gauges can be grounded to the back of the tach? What's the limit for that one grounding point? Forgive the novice electrical questions.
