This guy went from a b21 to a B230ft. Swapped for a block mounted distributor. Thank goodness you don't have kjet.

I forget what is behind the firewall where the head mounted distributor would go. But with the engine out, it shouldn't be too hard to recess it. Maybe cut it and get a piece of recessed plate and screw it in place to cover you handy work and seal of the cabin, something that could be removed to grant better access for working on the distributor in the future.
