I just discovered the issue with the front signal bulb contacts touching in the middle. The left turn signal was making the park lights flash along with it. It didn't take too long to work out but it would have been way quicker if I'd have looked on the forums first.
This past summer I had the right signal light stop working from time to time. After wasting lots of time changing bulbs etc I changed the flasher unit and that solved the problem. Unfortunately they cost like $100. I found a new one on ebay a bit cheaper then the usual places. I'm an electronic tech and so I took apart the flasher unit to see if there was anything fixable inside but there really isn't. It's all solid state and even some surface mount components. It is easy to change, I used a little screwdriver and popped it out with that. No need to remove any trim. I liked the suggestion given earlier though about removing the radio and pushing from the inside. You're less likely to break or scratch anything. If I'd have realized at that time how easy it is to remove the radio I'd have used that method.
