On a 1990 740, you should find two relays mounted on the front side of the radiator overflow bottle. One is the Radio Suppression Relay, while the other supplies power to the electric auxiliary radiator cooling fan. The two relays are identical and interchangeable. (They may may look a bit different if one of them has previously been replaced.)
