164 Choke Cable 140-160 1969

Stupid question but I'll ask anyway... did you try lubing up the by the Carb end. Not 164 specific but with the lawn mowers it was the same deal You pull out the knob 3" and the carb end moved .5". The metal sheathing would curl a bit.

Take the cable and let it sit in Kerosine or diesel fuel or home heating fuel. Then work the cable back and forth and let it sit again. It seems to do a heck of a job at getting in there and softening the rust and lubing at the same time.

Just a thought.
