Coil Removal S90-V90 1998

While thumbing through the 7xx/9xx/90 FAQ I found where it said, for a 960,

"Remove coils from spark plugs. Do NOT disconnect coil wires. (VERY IMPORTANT)"

Anyone know why it says that?

Too late, because I had already changed the S90 plugs. At the same time I removed the coils and cleaned all the low voltage connections to them.
Car still runs fine.
All coils appeared to be exactly the same.
I had only two off at a time, but I think they were installed at the original location.
