Should be easy then. Keep the hose installed on the manifold, then remove the PCV and feel the end with the engine running. There will be very little air going through if it's working well.
My advice is to simply use the original B20 restricted orifice fitting - far more reliable, and Volvo used that method throughout the B21-23-230 engines.
If plugging the fitting causes the engine to stall, you have found the problem.
