What was this for? Was it a light? 700

I'm going to share my theory since I have seen this light on a lot of 780s - even bought a switch set with one still in it. My first 780, which was one of the last produced, did not have this light.

Here is my theory. I think it might connect to the front amp to show when it is on. Since it seems to be a chronic problem that the switch fails draining the battery. The rear amp pilot light is visible from the trunk. The front amp light is not visible since it is well buried up under the dash. This light seems to always be on the left side of the steering column near the front amp. Thus my theory.

Can anyone confirm this?

Patrick
