If the seller does not know whether the paint is original or not and represents the car as "...original paint...", he is practicing dishonesty, whether through ignorance or by design.
The correct response to the question, "Is the paint original?", must be, "I don't know." I might even be swayed, "As far as I know it is", could be construed as an honest answer. Any other response is deception.
If, based on "original paint", RoachCoach paid more for the car than he otherwise would have, he was deceived for profit regardless of the seller's mens rae.
RoachCoach, did you pay a premium for the car?
