There is a sensor in the block facing backward toward the flywheel. It is at about the 9 o'clock positon and looks similar to a one wire O2 sensor. It is a flywheel sensor for setting the ignition timing using a special Volvo test meter. It normally goes to a test connector mounted on one of the cam cover nuts.
