It is weird, the temp comp board in there, but there are many other troubles folks run into aside from odometer shenanigans that could get instrument panels swapped. I don't know the 85-88 cars except by junkyard and factory manuals, but I figure you are not the first to have this one torn apart. If you have sealed beams, F in the VIN, a cable-driven speedometer, and a B230 you have an 85 in my book. I thought 89 was the small-wheel year. More surprises await you.
