Not reading carefully is a common problem 200 1985

Actually the part where I agreed with Onkel was on the snap judgment calls to replace those expensive main pumps. I failed to read the part that seemed critical, and that part was in itself due to a mis-read.

Here is the poetic paragraph I was focusing on:

Your noisy main pump may be nothing but, well noisy. Yep, that is a sign of impending failure in the same way birth is a sign of impending death...it is gonna' happen but who knows when.

I screw up all the time this way, and I should say at the outset: nothing personal. In a way, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to mess up listening. Sorry for the consequences.
