Hello,

If you put a gauge on the hose fitting on the breather (oil filler) cap, you would see pressure & vacuum.

This is caused by the pulses from the pistons moving inside the block.

I have recently put a breather hose check valve specifically designed for the purpose from a Ford in the hose that is attached to the breather cap.

This ensures that fresh filtered air goes into the breather cap and no oil goes into the air filter.
