I think there were only a few classes when the race was revived in the 1980s, and there are ten classes now, so no doubt they have opened it up to a lot more cars. The ideal starting field is supposed to be 80 teams, so they've been over-subscribed the last few years with over 100 entries. However, that generally whittles down to about 75 cars running by the end of the first day, so I guess it works out.
The 914 is back in the race, but obviously way back in the pack after missing much of Day Five. Turns out the gearbox seized, spinning them into a 911 (which is not running again, at least not yet). They supposedly have a big glob of epoxy filling a hole in the case. There are no other post-'65 models in the event, so I dunno what they're doing in it.
