Haven't done this yet though I've been thinking this through. It's my next (big) winter project. It may be possible to loosen the screws from underneath the dash. The screw shafts are exposed and you might be able to get something like long thin vise-grips to grab hold. At the very least you have access for penetrating oil though of course gravity will work against you.
