I've tried to install the whole dis. housing with the cap and rotor on but I never had any success.
I end up haveing to take the cap and rotor back off. The reason?
If you noticed the cross piece on the dis. shaft; it has a pin going through it and the cross piece is allowed move side ways a bit to compensate for the cam shaft flexing/being out of round.
You will need to slide the housing most of the way in, then grab the rotor shaft and wiggle up and down, from side to side to get that cross piece to slide in the slot in the cam.
Now you can re-install the rotor and cap.
