preparing my 72E for a respray 1800

Based on the photos posted to the 1800 list, I wouldn't say that anyone in the car's past did a good job of bodywork. The filler is awfully thick and is not original. You should strip the car to metal in order to see what you actually have. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but from what you've shown thus far, that car needs an enormous amount of work.
